Why I Launched Armed Again
And What Restoration of Your Second Amendment Rights Can Means For You
If you’re reading this, chances are you—or someone you know—has had their right to own a firearm taken away by a felony conviction. You may have paid your dues, turned your life around, and asked a simple question:
“When do I get my rights back?”
That’s what Armed Again is here to answer.
I’m Barton Morris, a criminal defense and firearms attorney who has spent over 20 years helping people navigate the justice system. I’ve worked with individuals who made mistakes, paid their debt, and want nothing more than to legally reclaim their freedom—including their Second Amendment rights.
And now—for the first time in over 30 years—the Department of Justice has reopened the door.
The Game-Changer: DOJ’s New §925(c) Program
In 2025, the DOJ launched a rulemaking process to accept applications for federal firearm rights restoration under 18 U.S.C. §925(c)—a process that had been shut down since 1992.
This means over 1 million Americans may now be eligible to restore their gun rights.
But the process is complicated. The law is dense. And mistakes can cost you years of waiting—or worse, another denial.
That’s why I created Armed Again.
